    The San Diego County Breastfeeding Coalition is currently looking for candidates who reflect the full diversity of the communities that we serve to fill vacancies on the Board of Directors for 2023.

    Our current Board of Directors is comprised of a passionate, diverse group of individuals from various disciplines and stages of careers.

    What do our Directors have in common?

    They all care about their community and want to promote, protect and support breastfeeding for all families in San Diego County.

Board meetings are held every other month, on the 2nd Thursday of the month for usually 2 hours, and a committee may meet monthly or occasionally (in person or electronically).

Board members are expected to attend at least 75% of board meetings.

Each board member is also expected to attend the Board Retreat and 2-3 special events throughout the year.

The usual time commitment is 4-10 hours per month.

Everybody is welcome to apply–even if you are new to the organization, new to the city, or new to the field of breastfeeding!

Each member of our Board brings energy and compassion, offers diverse skills, and contributes valuable information to increase SDCBC’s impact in our community.

Absolutely!

We are seeking a variety of individuals with diverse skills and experiences to help us advance our mission. 

We are in need of talented and motivated individuals with experience in accounting, fundraising, technology, sustainability, equity, community organizing, and much more. 

The coalition is involved in a wide range of projects including continuing education webinars/seminars, promoting the use and growth of the SDCBC Breastfeeding Resource Guide and Lactation Support Warmline, policy advocacy efforts, fundraising opportunities, and more. 

Each board member is expected to serve actively on at least 1 of the SDCBC committees and take on special assignments, as needed.
